I am a divorced, single mom trying to raise my very low credit score due to a bankruptcy following my divorce. It's been 6 years and since then, I have struggled with raising my children on my own and with paying my bills on time. I know that it is important to do so but at the time, keeping food on the table and daycare so I could work came first. Now that they are getting older, I am faced with a low credit score and unable to get any kind of loan. HELP! I have started getting back on track with setting up automatic payments to ensure "on time" payments to my car and credit card but that is all the credit I have. How do I raise a score of 500 and how long will it take with only the two loans out there. Oh, I forgot, I do have a student loan payment too, which I do pay on time now as well. I need any advice right now. I would just like to provide my children now with a home. Thanks!
