My boyfriend and I took in a friendly stray cat that had been wandering our apartment complex for some time. It's friendly and well behaved but it will get up first thing in the morning and meow loudly at our bedroom door and we're not cat people (neither of us have ever had a cat) so it's hard for us to interpret what it needs. Also how can I be sure if the cat is an indoor cat or an outdoor cat? I don't want it to roam around outdoors because i'm afraid it might get into fights or get hit by a car or pick up diseases, but it will go to the door when I do and act like it's trying to get out. I've had dogs do this...is it normal? Also it doesn't really drink water or milk...any cat advice would be appreciated.
